About National Service Scheme (NSS)
The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. The motto of National Service Scheme is NOT ME BUT YOU. Inculcating the idea of selfless service at SHTR, is a culture which helps the youth to build a strong character; prepare them for life’s struggle, generate empathy for others, build society and nation, become better human beings and ultimately achieve happiness.
NSS is one of the most active bodies of the society with over 200 volunteers coming from various disciplines and walks of life. Various activities related to social service and welfare are carried out throughout the year under NSS. Activities like poster making competitions, tree plantation drive, cleanliness drive, training for self defence, seminars, paper reading contests, quiz, lectures on health related issues, National Integration Camp are organized which help in overall development of the youth.
